Study On Moral Responsibility Dilemma During The Transition Period And How To Get Rid Of It

With the rapid development of modern science and technology and the further spreadof globalization, there are many new problems in the modernization process, while humanbeings’ rational value and attitude are needed to solve those problems, especially assumingresponsibility has become a key element in safeguarding and improving the normal socialorder. Moral responsibility is an important category of moral philosophy, self-awarenessand actively assuming certain moral responsibility are significant reflections of people’smoral subjectivity. Almost all ethical schools have their own positions and viewpointstowards moral responsibility issues.During the critical transition period of social morality in China, that is, the historicalintersection phase during which the old moral rules are being broken and new ones arebeing established, many contradictions and conflicts are exposed in social life, a series ofnew responsibilities different from traditional ones have appeared in various fields such asfamily morality, professional ethics and social morality, presenting a complicated andsevere dilemma of moral responsibility which is a fundamental and urgent problem thatneeds to be solved for China’s moral construction and even the modernization process.Thus its causes must be complicated, dynamic, synchronic and diachronic. It’s mainlycaused by the impact of market economy, multi-culture collision and absence of moralrestraint. In order to maintain social stability and to ensure the healthy and orderlydevelopment of the society, effective strategies must be studied, formulated andimplemented so as to carry out a comprehensive adjustment of the dilemma of moralresponsibility. On this basis, traditional outlook of moral responsibilities should beinherited dialectically, the construction of modern responsibility ethics should bepromoted in the market economy era, the social moral responsibility system based onpublic morality should be improved and moral responsibility education among citizensshould be strengthened so as to make sure that China’s moral construction be carried outsoundly, efficiently and orderly.Many research methods are used in the paper to study the moral responsibility dilemma China faces and how to get rid of it. The method of contradiction analysis isapplied to objectively analyze the contradiction that different value orientations exist whenit comes to China’s moral responsibility; the empirical analysis method is used to studythe current situation and problems of moral responsibility in China’s social life; the causalmethod is applied to analyze factors that have caused the moral responsibility dilemma inChina and to seek effective approaches to govern the moral dilemma.
