It is the important experience of developed countries’modernization that urban agglomeration plays an active role in improving the overall strength of countries and regions. As the most convenient access to the sea in southwestern area and China’s bridgehead for ASEAN, Beibu Bay urban agglomeration is full of potential of opening-up and development, which is to be a new economic growth zone in Southwest China. This thesis emphasizes on the study of Beibu Bay urban agglomeration to explore the mechanism of regional administrative coordination. Such a kind of exploration will not only help enhance the overall competitiveness of Beibu Bay urban agglomeration, but also provides a certain guide to sustainable development of other developed areas’ urban agglomeration in China.The development of Beibu Bay urban agglomeration is a system engineering characterized by a wide range, strong complexity, and heavy workload. This thesis is just a preliminary study of the current key issues, so there is room for further exploration. As the development of Beibu Bay urban agglomeration is still at the primary stage, the study on the mechanism of administrative coordination has a long way to go. The time span of the data collected is not long enough, therefore, its reliability and universality need to be teased. In the further study in the future, more attention should be paid to the strength of harmonizing the regional administration of Beibu Bay urban agglomeration, and then the implementation should be carried out in every city, every industry, and every infrastructure on the base of specific situation of the four cities of Beibu Bay urban agglomeration, thus cooperating competitively at a wider range and field to enhance the overall competitiveness of Beibu Bay urban agglomeration continuously.
