This thesis is the study of Douglas· C· North’s state theory, basic academicbackground is western new system economics, point of view and the main content ofhis theory, the author believes, North’s state theory has a very clear characteristics, itdoes necessarily tie a national economy to property structure. Detailed view onNorth’s state theory, its characteristic is treat the cause of economic change in thehistory as a starting point for analysis, the property as a bridge linked the national andinstitutional changes, on the basis of this, that and the changing nature of property isdetermined by the nature and change of state, an essential and effective propertyrights and economic development is the power of the state, and state powerrestrictions and violations of individual property rights, but also led to the decline ofincomplete and economic ownership. For the analysis of any kind of long-termchange, national pattern is clear and important part.
