Minimal Ethereal-Morandi Painting Art Analysis

Morandi is an artist who was highly acclaimed in the 20 th century. His paintings reflect various schools of art. He draws artistic deposit from the early Renaissance, and he is greatly interested in artistic schools such as Cezanne,Cubism and so on.Therefore,he combines tradition with fashion in his art. He has novel ideas and peculiar techniques in his works. Hedepicts emotions and treats bottles and cans as the ways of his art presentation.He explores in balance and space. He simplifies and integrates the form and structure into his pictures. In this way, his paintings reflect plainness and ethereality. He indulges structure of geometric objects.He adds artistic color and depth for the ordinary objectsThis thesis comes to the theme mainly based on Morandi’s paintings, in which the development and formation of his art are organized. Chapter I, the introduction namely,explains the academic background, purpose and significance of the research topic. On the basis of Morandi’s art experiences, the inheritance and innovation of artists to Italian traditional art as well as the influence that regional culture and various art trends have to his art are analyzed in the second chapter. In the third chapter, it elaborates Morandi’s artistic style of paiting primarily from aspects such as space, way of expression and colors, etc. It mainly explores the aesthetic feature of Morandi’s painting works; meanwhile in his works a kind of “coincide” with the eastern art,unvanished feelings and an inspiration of art creation to future generations are also demostrated. At last, this thesis gives a summary of experience gained during the study of Morandi’s art as well as the influences on self creation.
