Research On The Female Images In David Fincher’s Films

David Fincher is a commercial and artistic director of the United States Hollywood who has always insisted on his unique perspective of the character of his film, especially on the image of woman. This is a very important part of David Fincher’s film. This thesis takes the female image in the David Fincher movie as the main research object and the self consciousness of female image in the David Fincher film is digged out on the base of the feminist theory from a critical angle to explore the cultural connotation of the female image.The reflection of female image in his film is also studies under the perspective of feminism in this thesis.This article is divided into three parts to discuss the female image in David Fincher’s film. The characteristics of the female images in David Fincher’s films are discussed, and the infulences of female character feature on traditional Hollywood films are summarized in the two aspects which are the behavior characteristics and the features of female image in chapter one. Character of female in his film is divided into two kinds which are sub tolerance type and resistance type on the base of differences in behaviours and the costume feature is also dicussed as a supplement to objectively discuss the character of female image. The second chapter focuses on the discusion of self consciousness revealed by woman portraied in David Fincher’s film. On the one hand, the alienation between female in life and in the eyes of male is revealed according to the "other" image in the eyes of the male. On the other hand, the strength of female self-consciousness is seperated into two states which are consciousness budding and the generation of female subject, respectively to reveal a more realistic and three-dimensional image of female during the interference and conflict of gender awareness. The cultural implications of the female images in David Fincher’s films including the insistence of self-awareness, the care to individual life and the pursuit of sexual liberation, and so on are analyzes in the third chapter,We striveto analyze these female characters’ life state, living path and their spiritual changes.
