| Mr. Zhang Daoyi is very knowledgeable and in folk art he made many achievements, among which the most important is his Original Culture. His philosophy of folk art is integrated with Chinese elements, and is a groundbreaking from the academic point of view of Chinese creative art and traditional Chinese culture that can be traced back then. This essay applies the knowledge of Artistic Anthropology, Study of Refined Culture, Art Communication, Phenomenology, Genealogy, System Theory and other methods to reveal the connotation, content and features of Original Culture and its philosophy of Zhang Daoyi, which is ahead of time and of significance to folk art.Mr. Zhang reckons that Original Culture reflects the initial state of human culture, which is an integration of materials and spirits; feasibility and aesthetics, abiding by the law of singular to plural values within creative works. The culture of human is derived from an Original Culture which is regarded as the “matrixâ€. Then it diverges into material and spiritual cultures, which are subdivided accompanying by human evolution, and till now it enjoys plural values. However Original Culture never ends there for it works as the basic engine of the development of art and puts it root down folk ground, rebirthing and going together with today’s plural cultures with the help of technologies. This essay conducts a web analysis and systematically examines the philosophy system of Mr. Zhang’s Original Culture. It further studies the futuristic and leading role of his philosophy towards folk art. Based on the theories, it puts forward: it is creative and feasible to improve the environment of folk art based on Original Culture and the regeneration of elements in Original Culture. It hopes to reposition folk art and clear the air, revivifying folk art and its historic role, and thus breaking the predicament of contemporary folk art. |
