Abstract/Summary:
According to the Tibet University traning scheme for developing students awarded with masters degree in Fine Arts it is essential that such students possess a well-rounded and systematic professional knowledge as well as presentation competence in their field of study or program. They should be able to apply the acquired theoretical knowledge in arts and performance to practical challenges in their artistic practice. Degree concert is an important component of the vocal music performance as part of this traning program. It is a solid comprehensive test to assess the level of students’ performance skills, and is an innovative means to enable students to put their learning to practice in a presentation format. Featuring a close treatment of the theory and practice of the art and performance, this dissertation will undertake a close analysis of the concert repertoire and extension of theoretical exposion through a discussion of the background to particular works of arts, the style interpretation of such works and the general singing techeniques. In the three years of my study, I have completed all required credits as well as initial phase of the concert. As in will soon approach the end of my study, I’m about to usher in the most important degree concert.My degree concert consist of a total 13 pieces for performance, including a) Tibetan folk songs: “liquor offer song of heart”, “Songdorlinlha”, “liquor offer song”,“mother’s sweetheart”; b) Tibetan traditional songs: Nangma “Tala Shiba”, Dolshey “Ajo Di”; c) 20 th century works: “sumertime”; d) Tibetan new compositions: “Kelsang flower’s love”; e) Chinese new compositions: “endless mountains and countless rivers” f) Chinese national oprea excerpts “Ah, my brother Huzi”:; and g) Chinese local folk songs: “washing cabbage ” and “missing my lover”...
