| "Free Thai Movement" is an important chapter in the political history of modern Thailand, it had a negligible impact on the Thailand’s domestic politics and foreign relations. In this thesis, in terms of "The United States and Thailand ’free Thai movement’", the thesis is consist of three parts.The first part focuses on the domestic and international background of "Free Thai Movement". It mainly about in political evolution of Thailand since the military coup in 1932 and the expansion of German and Japanese fascism in 1930 s which caused the changes in the international situation.And that caused the "free Thai movement". The second part focuses on the US policy of "Free Thai Movement" during the World War Ⅱ. First of all, this chapter about the relationship between America and Thailand around Pacific War; secondly, it mainly about the America’s reaction to "Free Thai Movement",the US real support for "Free Thai Movement" and the strategic considerations of its support. The third part focuses on the relationship between the United States and the "Free Thai government" around 1945. Firstly, it about the close relations between the United States and "free Thai government" after World War Ⅱ; secondly, it explained the US support for the diplomatic field of "free Thai government".The support includes the United States pay an important role in Thailand’s Peace Agreement with France and the UK;Finally, it about the "Free Thai movement" had influence in US-Thai relations heritage after the World War Ⅱ. |
