A Study Of "X Ye(也)A,Ye(也)B" Structure

This paper conducts investigation of the "X ye(也)A, ye(也)B" structure in perspective of syntax, semantic and pragmatic.At the same time, we summarize the syntactic performances,semantic features and pragmatic value,and also make some thinking about the adverb "ye".The full text altogether has five chapters.The first chapter introduces the study object,its significance and related existing research findings.Then explains research methods,related theories and corpus sources.The second chapter is about syntactic investigation.We first examine the composition of the variable "X" "A" "B",then investigate the syntactic functions of the structure as a whole.The third chapter is about semantic investigation. We introduce the concept of "resemblance" to study the degree of resemblance of the variable "A" "B" and sum up the "resemblance-discrepancy" continuum.According to the degree of resemblance,we divides the structure into two categories:the "X ye(也)A, ye(也)B" structure with resemblance, the "X ye(也)A, ye(也)B" structure with discrepancy.Their structure meanings are "symmetrical resemblance" and "coexistent multi-perspective evaluation"."ye(也)"represents "similarity" and "coexistence" respectively,and "coexistence" is the results of semantic variation of "similarity". The structure "X ye(也)A, ye(也)B" exists symmetry semantically.Finally, we also investigate the relationships between "ye(也)A"and "ye(也)B",and know that it has four types in total.The third chapter is about the pragmatic study. First, we examine the distribution of the structure in different genres,and find that it usually appears in colloquialism.Then, based on context, we summarize three pragmatic functions of the structure:"subjective increment" "Cognitive emphasis" "interpersonal modality." Finally, we examine "X ye(也)A,ye(也)bu(不)A"structure,whose meaning center is post-positioned because of the impact of the context,and it is a kind of asymmetry in pragmatic.The fifth chapter concludes the paper and presents some thoughts about "ye(也)".At the same time,we also points out our inadequacies in the paper.
