As the melodies theory of The Tang Dynasty in China, Yan Yue 28 Mode not only affects the music of tang dynasty, thereafter The Song and Yuan Dynasties, but also spread to Japan being well known as Japanese Gagaku. But does Yan Yue 28 Mode theory remain the same after it spread to Japan, and being consistent with The Tang Dynasty’s Yan Yue music theory, either in nature or in form? So this article study is going to focus on questions that Yan Yue 28 Mode concrete forms in The Tang Dynasty, the way how and when it spread in Japan, the concrete forms how did it apply in Japanese Gagaku, and comparison of Japanese Gagaku and The Tang Dynasty melody, those questions and the problems need to be solved. This article is based on history, combined with music score documents focusing on Yan Yue 28 Mode’s concrete forms in The Tang Dynasty analysis, and the development discussion afterwards east spread to Japan. |
