The Comparative Study Of Innate Quality Theory Between Yuan Hongdao And Yuan Mei

In the middle Qing Dynasty, “innate quality theory” of Yuanmei has complete thought theory, as a unique school in Chinese literature. Literary thoughts are never emerged from naughty, or exist independently out the history. Therefore, in the emergence process of “innate quality theory”, innate quality thoughts of Yuan Hongdao in late Ming Dynasty also occupies a significant position. If Yuanmei can be named as late representative of innate quality literature, Yuan Hongdao is absolutely the early representative of innate quality literature. They belong to a same literature trend, as their innate quality thoughts must have intimate relations. Similar ear background, Chinese Confucianism, Buddhism, Taoism culture and elements of outlook on life and personality, enabling innate quality thoughts to show similarities, as they can jump out “conventions” into “innate quality”, emphasizing expression of literature personality, approving natural emotional desires of human,with poetry creation showing leisure, independence and creation, so as to become a bright scenery in the literary thought of Ming and Qing Dynasties. However,generality can never replace individuality.Being of different dynasties, Yuan Hongdao and Yuanmei have different thought accomplishments and path of literary trend, in addition with difference in life value, aesthetic idea, they are definite to differ in innate quality thoughts.Simply speaking, they all advocate “true feeling”, but Yuan Hongdao emphasizes on“true”, while Yuanmei attaches more importance to the injection of “feeling”, as they are particular in art processing of poet creation in expression of their own true feelings as “poet talent”, as they have different literary thoughts of straight feeling and value of poetry. In the development of literature, Yuan Hongdao advocates getting rid of old and welcoming new with negation on traditional culture, while Yuanmei emphasizes change in old literature, namely, discarding the dross and selecting the essence. All in all, this paper analyzes innate quality thoughts of Yuan Hongdao and Yuanmei in view of comparison, explores feature of innate quality literature in each stage profoundly, so as to make clear of development trend of innate quality system and reach comprehensive interpretation on the nature of innate quality literature.
