As tonal language, Chinese’s characteristic of "tone" is one of the most important points for the overseas students’learning, and the third tone sandhi is more difficult while learning Chinese. In recent years, the students from Vietnam are increasing, though the Vietnamese also is tone language, but there is no tonal modification in it, that makes a negative impact when Vietnamese students master the Chinese third tone sandhi. In studies of Vietnamese students’ phonetics, there are some achievements. In view of the third tone sandhi research about the Vietnamese students learning Chinses at the intermediate stage is seldom, this paper will try to apply the research method of experimental phonetics to analyze the Vietnamese students learning Chinses at the intermediate stages’third tones sandhi phenomenon and make teaching Suggestions. This paper mainly includes six parts:The first part is introduction; this chapter expounds the origin of this paper, states the research status and development trends in domestic and foreign of Chinese Tonal modification in resent years, finally clears the purpose and significance of this experimental study.The second part is the experimental design; this chapter introduces the shortcomings of this experiment, the subjects of study, experimental materials, experimental methods and procedures.The third part is the monosyllabic tone experimental study of the Vietnamese students learning Chinese in intermediate stage, this chapter analyzes the monosyllabic tone’s pattern and value of Vietnamese students learning Chinese in intermediate stage by means of experimental phonetics, and then compared with the standard pronunciation of Mandarin Chinese to investigate their errors of monosyllabic tone.The fourth part is the third tone sandhi experimental study of bisyllabic tone about Vietnamese students learning Chinese in intermediate stage, this chapter also using experimental phonetics analytical methods to study the sandhi when Chinese’third tone in combinations of other tones, aiso,this chapter will investigate errors through the tone value and tone pattern.The fifth part is the third tone sandhi experimental study of trisyllabic tone about Vietnamese students learning Chinese in intermediate stage, this chapter is still by means of experimental phonetics to analyze trisyllabic words’ third tone sandhi of the vietnamese students, and then compare with standard third tone sandhi of Chinese trisyllabic words, analyze the standard tone value and tone patterns to investigate their errors.The sixth part is the third tone sandhi error Analysis and teaching Strategies of Vietnamese students learning Chinese in intermediate stage, in base of the experimental data, this chapter analyzes the reasons why the Vietnamese Students learning Chinese in intermediate stage make Errors about third tone sandhi, and then put forward teaching strategies.
