Research On Derivatives Design Based On Bookplate Art

With the vigorous development of electronics industry, newly-developing read ing modes such as e-books are gradually replacing the traditional paper reading.The bookplate, as a part of paper book culture, is gradually being away from pe ople’s horizons. Being called as "paper gems", the bookplate is a kind of artwor ks with high collection value and appreciation value used for book decoration. Ai ming at laying the foundation for cultural inheritance and design application of bo okplates and its derivatives, the development status quo, innovative design and appl ication prospect of bookplates and its derivatives will be studied in this thesis thro ugh theoretical research, questionnaire survey, SWOT analysis, art design, etc.The first chapter will study the bookplates and its derivatives through the way of theory research, investigation and analysis, laying the foundation for design co ncept and production. The second chapter will introduce the process and outcome of the graduation design in detail, mainly including the visual representations of t he bookplate derivative’s design ideas, procedure and techniques. The third chapter mainly introduce the application prospect and future expectations of bookplates a nd its derivatives.The main idea of this thesis is the exploration of bookplates and its derivative s’ design thought. Applying traditional artistic form to the development of art deri vatives, it not only provides the theory and practice experience for bookplate deri vatives’ design and innovation, but also offers references to bookplate derivatives’ application prospect.
