| Amado Jorge is a famous and contemporary novelist in Brazil, whose literary creation career spanned more than 50 years. In terms of all his works, the content is very rich and his works is of very high research value in the aspect of content, thought and art. The author combs many works of Amado after carefully reading, finding that there are many figures in his works, they come from different classes, with different personalities and different ages. The readers find that the activity of the characters in Amado’s works is like an encyclopedia of the Brazil society. But what are the most attractive in his novel are the female characters, who account for a very large proportion in his works, more than sixty-five percent in the collected works. In the second creative period, his works are almost named as the women’s name in the novels, the topic of the novel is mostly about female, the plot of the novel is also dependent on women’s words and actions, and we can say that he is a very good at shaping the image of women. In the interviews and his articles, although Amado had never elaborated the female image of his works in systematic and highly theoretical way, but we still feel that he has a unique understanding and awareness of women, we can find a rich female world in his works.This paper is divided into five parts, the introduction part briefly introduces the Amado, introduces its research status in China and the reasons for this research. The first part combs, analyzes the numerous female images in his works and figures out the four types of women in his novels:weak and incompetent aphasiac; chivalrous challenger; shameless animalist; congenitally deficient escapers. The second part tries to explore the main factors which affect the female image creation in Amado’s novels through the study of the female image in his works, The third part will summarize the previous two chapters and figures out his unique idea of women and give a objective evaluation to his views of female, the author hopes that the study of Amado’s works would attract more attention form the domestic academia to Amado and his works. |
