With the development of Chinese comprehensive national strength, more and more countries pay more attention on China. Thailand is the which near to China also formulated the policies and strategies to promote Chinese teaching, more and more Thai schools started the Chinese language course, the number of the students who taking in Chinese also increasing year by year. So the cultural adaptation problems of these Chinese teachers who go to Thailand to teach Chinese attract more people’s attention. This article is talk about "how to help Chinese teachers to adapt to the Thai teaching quickly", based on the typical and real cases of myself one year teaching experience in Sanpatongwittayakom middle school of Chiangmai, Thailand. I analyzed the differences in teaching aspect between China and Thailand, then gave the specific suggestions. There are six sections in this article, the first part expounds the background research of the thesis, and the significance of selected topic, the thesis research status at home and abroad, the research content and methods and innovations. The second part discusses the teaching environment adaptation problems of Chinese volunteer teachers. It is including the adaption for Thailand’s education system in macroscopically aspect and the adaption for school’s hardware facilities and the humanities environment in microcosmic aspect. The third part discussed the problem about teaching content. It is including the adaption for the teaching material, the complement of extra-curricular knowledge and teaching responsibilities. The fourth part discusses the adaptation problem for the teaching methods. It is including the adaption for using grammar translation method, multimedia teaching methods and classroom language adaptation. The fifth part discusses the adaptation to the Thai students. It is including the adaption for Thai student’s learning habits and the way between teacher and student get along. The last part is epilogue, according to the specific cases mentioned in paper mainly part, Chinese volunteer teachers’cultural adaption problems involved in the Material Couture, Institutional Couture and Spiritual Culture aspects. Then I put forward comprehensive advises combined with self-experience. Hopefully, those advises could help Chinese teachers who in Thailand or will be Thailand to avoid a series of cross-cultural problems and solve it. Then carry out Chinese teaching work in Thailand happily and smoothly.
