Offenbach was a musical creator who had his unique style in the history o f opera. In his operas, there was laugh and curse as well as sarcasm and amuse ment. He always revealed actual social phenomena in the easiest presentment. Th e Little Pigeon Flew Awaywas an aria in his opera, The Tales of Hoffmann. In this paper, the author clarified the artistic career of Offenbach and the role of A ntonia and learned about musical characteristics of The Little Pigeon Flew Away, so as to lay a foundation for the research on singing techniques. The tune of this aria is exquisite and agreeable, where there are many singing techniques o f vocal music. Singing techniques of vocal music are one of the elements that su pport singing and an indispensable part in performance of an excellent piece of works. Breath is the basis of singing. It can make a piece of work more vivid and more vital and attain good singing effects to apply head resonance to cont rol timbre and volume, along with coordination of accompaniment. Although there is not much passion in this aria, the tone is exquisite and touching. It presents it s "charm" in fluent musical notes. It integrates techniques and emotions to make the aria more complete, providing reference for singing other works.
