Study On Acceptance Of Wen Tingyun’s Ci Poetry

Wen Tingyun has made major contribution to and had far-reaching impact on ci poetry. This article studied the acceptance of Wen Tingyun’s ci poetry from the Tang and Five Dynasties to the Qing Dynasty in the three subjects: the ci anthologies, creation receptions and the notes and comments of ci poetry.The first chapter studied to what extent the famous ci anthologies accept Wen Tingyun’s works. This paper first counted the amounts of Wen Tingyun’s ci-poetry and ci-poetry written by other writers of Tang and Five Dynasties through the quantitative research, sorting out the leaderboard of the famous works of Wen Tingyun’s and other works in the Tang and Five Dynasties, then it analyzed the comments about Wen Tingyun’s ci poetry in all the ci anthologies, and investigated the status of Wen Tingyun’s ci poetry in the Tang and Five Dynasties’ ci history. At last, this paper discussed the process of the canonization of Wen Tingyun’s ci poetry.The second chapter investigated the creation acceptance of Wen Tingyun’s ci poetry by means of comparative research from the aspects of linguistic, imagery and lyrical pattern acceptance. Based on this, the result revealed the personality characteristic in Wen Tingyun’s ci poetry and made it clear his impact on future generation’s poetic creation and the development of the overall context of the ci literature.The third chapter observed the acceptance for the notes and comments in Wen Tingyun’s ci poetry. In this chapter, three topics were discussed. The first one is the metaphor and symbol in Wen Tingyun’s ci poetry; the second one is the status of Wen Tingyun’s ci works, and the last is the relationship between the character of Wen Tingyun and the fabric of his ci poetry as well as the way how Wen Tingyun’s ci was accepted in all ages.After the study in the above three aspects, it is easy and clear to perceive the features of the acceptance of Wen Tingyun’s ci-poetry.
