Abstract/Summary:
Advances in technology, especially the emergence of multimedia and the Internet has changed the way people receive information. In the image-based and booming "visual culture" era, has become a popular visual literacy necessary for basic literacy, and develop children’s visual literacy has become an important issue in today’s education. Simply read the visual information is visual literacy, thinking visual information and visual information creation capacity. However, visual literacy and adult children can not be generalized visual literacy, visual literacy for children through child must aesthetics, child psychology, children’s cognitive science, interdisciplinary studies, in order to meet the development of the visual characteristics of children. The author of 12 children of different ages under the age of physical and mental development features, aspects, logical thinking development of visual literacy of children and adults made a distinction between the concept of visual literacy and visual literacy of children classified for a detailed description of the elements, roughly divided into three a level stage of visual perception (0-3 years old), visual comprehension (3 years old to 8 years old), the ability to use visual (8 years old to 12 years old).Illustrated is recognized as the best children’s books in the West prevailed a century, both the author, publication or distribution has a very professional and mature system, and China’s picture book has just started, it is still in the exploratory stage, with the West picture books there is a big gap.
