Good interpersonal relationship developed during the stage of college plays a positive role in promoting one’s career. However, with the popularity of smart phone, a growing number of college students are getting more and more addicted to all kinds of phone apps, resulting in a decrease of interpersonal communication and a bad influence of interpersonal relationship.This is a research for students in the first and third year at Eastern University and Yantai Engineering Professional Technology Institute, with the use of college students’ mobile phone addiction tendency scale, interpersonal comprehensive diagnostic scale and UCLA loneliness scale questionnaire. And we’ve got 723 validated questionnaires out of 800 original ones. This research aims at exploring the relevance among college students’ mobile phone addiction tendency, loneliness and interpersonal relationship, as well as the intermediary effect of loneliness on the other two. After inputting the validated data into SPSS19.0 and processing it with many different methods of analysis, we finally came to the following conclusions:(1) For college students, the levels of mobile phone addiction tendency, interpersonal relationship and loneliness are respectively average, high and average again.(2) There are conspicuous differences between the groups with higher score and lower score on the three aspects: the motivation of the phone use and the using time per day.(3) Within the group of higher score, there are obvious differences among Mobile phone addiction tendency, interpersonal relationship and loneliness.(4) As for the college students’ mobile phone addiction tendency, interpersonal relationship and loneliness, there is a big relevance between each two of the three, except that loneliness has the intermediary effect on the other two.According to the results, the research has put forward corresponding countermeasures and suggestions from the aspects of college students themselves, school and family. The purpose is to reduce college students’ mobile phone addiction and loneliness, to improve their interpersonal relationship, and to promote their physical and mental development.
