Epic is the incarnation of human civilization, and it is in a unique way to record the history of the development and the evolution of the literary theme. Although different countries and regions have their own epic creation, but there is huge convergence in the occurrence and development of the epic, such as content and style. This paper through the comparative study of similarities and differences between two epic, interpret the differences and characteristics of Persian culture and Greek culture behind the epic.This paper main body part is divided into two sections. Section one is the detailed interpretation on the similarities and differences of characters, consisting of three parts, the analyzed similarities and differences of the images of heroes, the monarch and the female.The heroes in two epic both embody the image of god and ordinary body and the destiny tragedy. But the heroes from east and west have different value in the face of collective interests and personal interests. Eastern hero also put the collective interests the first place,while western hero care more about individual interests and honor. There are many differences between sovereign rights in the two epic under the different political systems. In shaping the image of women, the female characters in the two epic have the same performance in hero image creator and accessories in the patriarchal society. And due to the different social and historical reasons, there is a different view of the nature of the faithful.Section two is about the comparative study of the war. It is divided into two parts. The first part is about the similarities and differences of the war narration. The second part is to explore the cultural background behind the war. Part one contains the motivation of the war and winning factors two aspects.By comparing the two epic, we can find the nature of warfare in the epic is same, whether the war between Greek and Troy for Helen, or the wars started by Persian to defend territory attacked against soil LAN. The aim is the purpose of enthusiasm for territorial expansion and interest. But the motivation is different. The motivation of The Epic of the kings is revenge and defending the motherland. And the war in the Iliad is for "beauty". The winning elements under the same nature of the war also vary. The background culture of war includes religious cultural and social cultural. We can find the dualism of good and evil of Zoroastrian and Pan-Iranism from Iran’s unique social background play an important role in the narration of the wars in The Epic of the kings. The background culture of the war in Iliad is the gods’ determinism of Olympus and the worship of hero during the period of social transformation.
