The Study Of Chinese Characters Language Policy In The Period Of The Republic Of China

Language policy is a part of the rule of a country’s policy, in relation to the stability and unity of the society and foreign relations to the country’s image and international standing, especially like China that has thousands of years of history of language played, which need pays more attention to language policy.The ruler of China since ancient times in order to consolidate its rule and pushed through a series of policies, language policy is one of them. The period of the Republic of China is a big turbulent period in Chinese history, just after the semi-colonial and semi-feudal society, regime change frequently, during the 30 years, the beiyang government, Nanjing national government, and other government authorities were in power,several regimes in order to maintain its own rule, in the process of Chinese alphabetize, made different language policies in the aspect of language, on the later development of language policy played a certain effect.In this paper, using literature analysis, analytic hierarchy process(ahp), historical analysis, comparative analysis and case analysis, to study two kinds of language policies, namely the language of the language policy of top-down and bottom-up policy. Mainly on the different regime and at the end of Qing Dynasty and the Republic of China adopted different about Chinese phonetic language policy analysis, from the reasons for the implementation of the language policy, content and influence of to explore language policy and influence on the future development of language policy.First, this paper introduces the background of development of language policy in the period of Republic of China, namely in the late Qing Dynasty and the movement of Qieyin characters, including the content of Qieyin characters, the implementation of the mainstream, failure analysis and implementation of the sound of the word meaning, and its influence in the history of the development of Chinese reform.Second, we mainly choose the two regimes in the Republic of China to carry on the analysis: the Beiyang government and the Nanjing national government. During the period of the Beiyang government focuses on Phonetic Alphabet Language Policy Analysis, the contents of which include the promotion of the promulgation of the formulation of the phonetic alphabet, phonetic alphabet language policy, promulgated the reason and language policy. During the period of the Nanjing national government mainly discuss two major language policy: Mandarin romanization or Lionization of new words. Three aspects separately from the two Chinese characters program contents, implementation and significance of analysis.Finally, an analysis of Chinese characters language policy about the period of the Republic of China, the influnce in later language policy, which to provide history lessons to current Chinese language policy.
