Study On The Manuscript Of Three Kingdoms Play Of Jing He Opera In Jingzhou Public Art Centre

Bearing these drama activities for more than a century, Jing sha region was the cradle of Jing he opera, and this place also has given birth to a large number of artistic treasure, left by artists of Jing he opera. However, it is regrettable that, as the older performers has departed, Jing he opera is facing with crisis, such as lacking the roles of performing and lacking the condition to train successors. Jingzhou Public Art Centre has been supporting local Jing he opera activities for many years, the staff and the artists built a deep friendship together. These manuscripts donated by Jing he opera artists, who had collected from last generation have provided the researchers and amateurs with valuable text information.This thesis will give a description of these manuscripts, exploring the specific source, analyzing the external and internal forms and the constitution of themes, and summarizing its basic features. After that, take the Three Kingdoms play as the main object from all the manuscripts, carrying out from three aspects:introducing the basic content of these Three Kingdoms play, analyzing its geographical and cultural origin, and then summarizing the artistic features of these Three Kingdoms play.More specifically, in the first chapter, this thesis introduce the basic contents of these manuscripts collected by Jingzhou Public Art Centre and describe the basic content of the Three Kingdoms play from all the manuscripts. In the first step, exploring the main source of these manuscripts of Jing he opera. Next, collating the repertoire, quantity, form and the main theme of these manuscripts, and then form a sheet. According to these data, to further the study. Finally, taking the Three Kingdoms play as an individual section, elaborating the basic content in three aspects, the forms, the materials and the performing roles.The second chapter explains the art features of the Three Kingdoms Play in Jing he opera. By making a concrete analysis on these 30 manuscripts of the Three Kingdoms Play, four aspects were discussed in this part, the thought, the lyrics, the plot-arrangement and the figure-creation.In the third chapter, there is an introduction of the regional culture background of the Three Kingdoms play of Jing he opera, including the relation between regional culture and materials and characters in the Three Kingdoms play of Jing he opera. And a description of the Three Kingdoms culture as a part of Jingzhou regional culture.Over all, Jing he opera, as a local opera has a native characteristic, also keeps a large number of manuscripts, especially the Three Kingdoms Play which influenced by the native culture of the Three Kingdoms. Accordingly, it is meaningful to make an analysis and research on the manuscripts of Jing he opera and its Three Kingdoms Play.
