This practice report is based on the simulated consecutive interpretation of the 4th Global Economic Leaders Summit with the purpose of promoting global science, technology innovation, and international collaboration on production capacity for economic transition and upgrading. The author simulated the interpretation of four opening speeches with the contents and topics covered economy, science, political measures, international collaboration and production capacity.The author analyzes the problems in the interpretation from the aspects of imbalance between note-taking and memory, the interpreter’s weak mental quality, and mechanical interpretation, and then the author elaborates on the corresponding solutions, such as improving memory, developing effective symbols in note-taking, applying Gile’s Effort Model, self-motivation, making full preparation, and increasing flexibility in interpretation. At last, the author summarizes the experience and lessons from this simulated consecutive interpretation. It is expected that this practice report will be helpful for consecutive interpretation of international conference with theme about international collaboration and production capacity.
