Guild as an economic organization in the Medieval Western Europe cities, which dominated the city’s life as long as many hundred years. And it played a vital role in the cities. The Florence guild system was the most perfect and special in the history of the city’s guild. This article is mainly through the big extent of the period of the 12th century to the 16th century’s economic, politics and culture, to explore the rise and decline of the guilds and to analyze their complex relations, and the far-reaching influence to the city’s economic, politics, culture and society. Through the simple carding the history of the Florence guilds in the 12th century to the 16th century, which not only can help us to understand them more distinct and analyze them more exact and help us to peer on the historical effect and position of the Medieval Western Europe cities. And it also can help us to explore the influence of the Florence guilds, and then understand the history of Italy. This whole article is divided into three parts, expect the introduction and conclusion.The first chapter is mainly discussing the social extent of the rise and decline of the Florence guilds during the 12th century to the 16th century. we mainly through the three aspects:economic, politics and culture. It is an essential basis to help us to understand the history of the Florence guilds better.The second chapter is mainly discussing the history of the Florence guilds in the 12th century to the 16th century. First, we explore the rise of the Florence guilds. Then we divide the Florence guilds into three articles:seven big guilds, five medium guilds and nine small guilds, to discuss their history of the development and decline. Last, we analyze the complex relations between the big and small guilds. They have the aspect of harmony, and they also have the aspect of the small guilds against the big guilds’ control.The third chapter is mainly discussing the effects and the influence of the Florence guilds during the period of the 12th century to the 16th century. First, we analyze the guilds’ positive and negative effects to the Florence economic. Then we explore the close relations between the guilds and the Florence politics. Then we in the perspective of the guilds’ positive support and donate to the Florence culture and art, to peer on their huge contributions. Last, we analyze the great effects on the aspects of relaxing social contradictory and maintaining the social stability, in the perspective of the guilds positively engaged in many kinds of philanthropy.
