The Representation Research Of Chinesetraditio Nalculture In Thailand Ethnic Chinese Literatu Re Works

Thailand is one of Chinese important settlement of immigrant in hi story.At now,Thailand has an estimated population of 67 millions and eth nic Chinese are about 8.5 millions (2014).So,Chinese have a very import ant influence in Thailand society.Ethnic Chinese litterateurs in Thailand als o is an important part of Thai literature.The ethnic Chinese writers in Tha iland always write literature works about Chinese immigrants and their life in the history.Therefor,these works show a lot of Chinese traditional c ulture.So for, the research of Thai ethnic Chinese writers’literature works mainly focus on the works which Thai ethnic Chinese writers write by Chinese, this article invented a new way of choosing Thai ethnic Chinese writers’ literature works which written by Thai as research object The art icle discusses three novels of famous ethnic Chinese who received import ant literature award and Chinese traditional culture of Thai ethnic Chinese writers’ literature works which write by Thai.These three novels are Sup ha Sirisingh’s letter From Thailand, Yok Burapha’s With The Grandpa an d Prapatsorn Saewikul’s Dragon Spirit.This article has six chapters. Introduction firstly introduces the stud y’s background and definitions of relevant concepts and sum up the previ ous research findings of this subject. Chapter 1 briefly describes Chinese Thais’history of immigration and Thailand ethnic Chinese writers’basic i nformation, indicating the fact that the two groups mainly come from Cha ozhou-Shantou region. Chapter 2 makes a brief introduction of the three n ovels as well as the writers of this article. Chapter 3 observing and stud ying the traditional Chinese culture of these three novels in details; mean while, making a major discussion from language, festivals, customs,Chaozh ou opera and idea. Chapter 4 discussing the relation between traditional C hinese culture and Thai culture in novels, showing that the main relation of these two cultures is integration of Chinese and Thai culture. Epilogu e summarize the whole thesis and pointting out the deficiencies of the t hesis.
