The Research Of The Modern Chinese Evidentiality Adverbs

Evidentiality is emerging up research topic in recent years, closely associated with the modal, the present study generally have " inclusion ", "overlap" or " disjunction " three kinds of treatment.Evidentiality adverbs are one of the manifestations of Chinese evidentiality. According to Chinese evidentiality model and the generalized definition of evidentiality, taken from 59 Evidentiality adverbs in Modern Chinese Adverbs table of Zhang Yisheng for qualitative and quantitative research. In Chinese evidentiality mode, evidentiality adverbs can be divided into inference evidentiality adverbs, reliability evidentiality adverbs, expected evidentiality adverbs.There are semantic opposition of reality and non-reality between different categories of Evidentiality adverbs. From the point of cognitive principles, People often believe the reality that they can witness and direct perception, but have a complicated attitude for non-reality. Therefore, There are differences reliability in the use of evidentiality adverbs, different clauses, which contain different categories of evidentiality adverbs, have different reliability. The reliability is not fixed, under the influence of some of the co-occurrence of evidential or non-evidential, reliability will "enhanced", "weaken" or " remain unchanged ".Combined discourse responsibility, Evidentiality adverbs will produce evidentiality responsibility in pragmatics. Different sources of information have different evidentiality responsibility. When the information come from the speaker role, the speaker may use different evidential of different Reliability, so that communication toward to the expected and advantage direction. Among them, the defense, the recognition and attention of hearer, the privileges are two major types of motivations in the process of using evidentiality adverbs.
