The Research About V₁ And V₂ In Pivotal Structrures Of Hongloumeng

Hongloumeng was written by Cao Xueqin in early years of Qing Dynasty, which is during the transition period of modern Chinese. Chinese in this period developed on the basis of the ancient Chinese, and was not as confused as the modern Chinese. The paper choose Hongloumeng as the research object and researched all of pivotal structrures, to try to analyse the features of V1 and V2 and the relationship between V1 and V2. The main structure of paper is as following:Chapter 1 consists three parts. The first part mainly introduces the research of pivotal structrures, including the definition of pivotal structrures, the range of pivotal structrures and the research of V1 and V2. The second part introduces the information of Hongloumeng. The third part introduces the significance and research method of the choice.Chapter 2 introduces the definition and determination methods of pivotal structrures. This chapter distinguishes pivotal structrures from double-object sentences, gearing sentences and clausal-object constructions.Chapter 3 introduces the information of V1.Based on the meaning of V1, pivotal structrures can be divided eight classes.and takes the collocation of "zhe" and "le" and pivotal structrures weather can change into ba-sentences as the basis of classification.Chapter 4 includes two parts. The first part introduces the information of V2, which is divided simple verbs and complex verb constructions. The complex verb constructions consists verb-complement phrases, adverbial-verb phrases, verb-object phrases, gearing sentences and pivotal structrures. The second part discusses the collocation of V1 and V2. The class of establishing relationship V1 always collocates with "wei" and "zuo"; the class of provoking V1 matches verbs and verb structures with strong emotion. In the class of causative, the class of commanding and sending, the class of request and the class of allowing, V2 is complex and dosen’t have obvious futures.To some extent, V2 is decided by the meaning of V1.Chapter 5 is the summary of the paper, which concludes the main content and points out the deficiency of this paper.
