Line is the basic carrier of Chinese landscape painting and calligraphy art. The main embodiment of flowing deformation of Chinese landscape painting and calligraphy is the line application.With rigorous aesthetic pursuit, deliberate spatial structure, regular and orderly line, natural hook and crack, harmonious masculine and feminine spirit, vivid portrait of landscape and close position requirement in Northern landscape painting, the flowing deformation of Northern landscape painting skills and handwriting skills interacts each other. The painting form of Northern landscape is expressive, specific, readable, formal. Lifelikeness principle is the way to understand natural phenomena, shape and its feature and universal law as well.Northern School landscape containing initiative aesthetic idea on orthodoxy thought and free spirit gives rise to the first formal orientation system between the natural landscape and personality and has much in common with the changing of calligraphy. This article focuses on the ideological formation of the Northern School landscape and the complementary relationship between painting skills of hook and crack and the calligraphy skills.This focus on the North sent landscape thought formation and landscapes of the northern faction in the complementary relation between the hook and cracked image and calligraphy skills on painting function in understanding the world in which extends out of the category.
