According to the review of previous researches on perfectionism, attachment and propensity for abuse. this study investigated the influence of perfectionism and attachment on the explicit behavior and the internal psychological motivation of the abuse of the females’intimate partner violence, and try to explore the basis of the common early upbringing. In this study, qualitative and quantitative research methods were used.The main findings are as follows:(1) Qualitative study shows that both perfectionism and insecure attachment styles have a deep impact on propensity for abuse in intimate relationships.(2) Quantitative study showed that perfectionism and insecure attachment styles were significantly positively correlated with propensity for abuse in intimate relationships.(3) According to the results of the qualitative and quantitative study, perfectionism and insecure attachment had different effects on abuse, in an intimate relationship, the three different stages, the emergence, the development and the end,were also played a different role:a) In the beginning stage of the intimate relationship, it is easier for a perfectionist to choose a "worse" partner;b) In the development stage of the intimate relationship, perfectionism and anxiety attachment have greater correlation with maltreat abuse, and avoidance attachment has greater correlation with battered abuse;c) In the ending stage of the intimate relationship, anxiety attachment affects more whether to save the relationship with abuse, perfectionism is more affected if repeats similar abuse relationship,and avoidance attachment affects the duration of the relationship.(4) The relationship between perfectionism, insecure attachment and propensity for abuse in intimate relationships may have a common basis for early upbringing.At the same time, this study tries to put forward a model to explain the effect of perfectionism and attachment on the effect of the abuse.
