His works are highly regarded in serious literature and popular literature, the description of the anxiety characters are inseparable, which is worthy to study.Suskind have three types of anxiety characters, including dissociative disorder, social phobia and panic disorder, these three categories are divided based on the “sense of self” in control, the irrational fears to communicate with others and want to escape the space. The characters have shown a consistent basis in terms of cognitive, behavioral, etc. This anxiety bring a psychological and ideological rigidity, emotional loneliness and the crazy pursuit of love and death, which make them incompatible with the surroundings and even to ruin. They become anxious people, for many reasons, the main two reasons are personal experiences and social environment. Unhappy childhood experiences make they live in the shadow of the past. With the growth of ego strength, freedom is difficult to choose so that they produce dizziness. And in technological alienation, lack of faith in the context of social anxiety become a "social character", in which they live, it is difficult to escape. As a German writer, Suskind in writing anxiety consciously or unconsciously influenced by the German works, writers, but also has its own unique style, and it gives a reference to modern Chinese literature. The study of his anxiety characters enables us to contrast ourself to face up to this feeling rather than to escape, finally find a constructive way to relieve anxiety.
