| Jishou, the capital of Xiangxi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture, lies in the south of it and west of Hunan Province. This paper studies adverbs among Jishou dialect and focuses on distinctive and frequently-used ones, including degree adverbs, scope adverbs, time adverbs, negative adverbs, modal adverbs and mood adverbs. The author of this paper analyzes the six kinds of adverbs from the grammar, semantics and pragmatics perspective and then compare them with the synonyms in Putonghua. All the work is to have a more comprehensive understanding of adverbs among Jishou dialect.There are four chapters in this paper. Chapter 1 first introduces the culture and geography of Jishou, next the affiliation and phonology of Jishou dialect, then the backgrounds, meanings and the theories connected with this paper, last related corpus and style. Chapter 2 introduces the research status of adverbs in contemporary Chinese, Hunan dialect and Jishou dialect separately. Chapter 3 mainly discusses six types of adverbs in Jishou dialect.(1)Degree adverbs, divided into relative adverbs and absolute adverbs, describe a certain extent of some state or action. Based on the different levels, relative adverbs are separated into three levels, that is relatively low, relatively high and highest. Absolute adverbs are separated into four levels, that are super high, high, relatively high, low. This paper selects relative adverbs "ge’er", "yehai", "lue" and absolute adverbs "tai", "dengkang", "laohuo", "si", "e", "hao", "hen", "cai", "man", "youke’er" to compare with each other.(2)Scope adverbs explain or limit the range of objects in question. This paper discusses several specific scope adverbs, including "danli" "laoquan’ "longgong"ã€"yiqi"ã€"yiha"ã€"yigasi"ã€"jin"(3)Time adverbs mean the time that actions happen or the continuousness of activities. This section analyzes the time adverbs "jiangjiang"ã€"yiha"ã€"yilu’ "kandao"ã€"jin/jindao"ã€"berberer"ã€"laibulai"ã€"sanbuzhier"ã€"gendao"〠"kaixian"ã€"daxian"ã€"xianbuxian"ã€"qixian"ã€"xianqian"ã€"dengdao"(4)This section analyzes negative adverbs "mi", "bu", "mo".(5)Modal adverbs not only have the practical meanings, but the characteristics of the adverbs. This section discusses the modal adverbs "zanjin", "bayi", "basi", "banzi", "zhuanmen".(6)Mood adverbs refer to the mood and affection of the people who are talking. This section selects "ying", "dao", "mo" as the study object.Chapter 4 summarizes the contents and meanings of this paper. |
