Study On The Discourse Marker Of “Zhe Yang De Hua”

Based on the researches of discourse markers both at home and abroad, the thesis analyzes the discourse markers and its characteristics, processes, pragmatic functions, theoretical perspectives and formation mechanisms, so as to better suggests the case study of the discourse marker "Zhe yang de hua".From the perspective of phonetics, syntax, semantics and pragmatics, the thesis analyzes the characteristics of the discourse marker " Zhe yang de hua", which is the combination of the cross layer phrase "dehua" and the anaphoric expression “zheyang”. Due to its frequent use in the context of hypothesis reasoning, it gradually becomes a permanent discourse maker with solidification structure. With the pragmatic functions of summary, hypothesis, cohesion, delaying and interpersonal interaction, the discourse marker "Zhe yang de hua" is formed by the rule of subjectification and inter- subjectification. Besides, it serves as the cooperative principle of verbal communication and provides the strategy to express opinions. Its formation mechanism is the pragmatic inference and changes of the substructure caused by the re-analysis in different context.Because the study on the discourse marker "Zhe yang de hua" is still at the primary stage of lexicalization that is the idiomatic phase, it contains all kinds of variant forms but with no influence on the core function of its hypothesis reasoning. Moreover, it reflects different subjective attitudes of different speakers and is usually put in the middle of a sentence or at the sentence-initial.
