Due to new web media’s promptness, multimedia features and social interactivity, audiences’ attention is moving from traditional media platform to web media. Fast-developed Web technology brings Homemade Network Play several advantages which are hardly ignored, e.g. low latency, strong interactivity, easy contents and short stories telling. Benefited from these features, Homemade Network Play leads a new trend of Wed Media and its influence should also be emphasized. This paper mainly focuses on the basic features of Homemade Network Play, e.g. target audience, time, location, ratio, subject, motive of watching, and user’s concerns by means of questionnaires, literature analysis, interviews, qualitative analysis and observation. The author indicates that network homemade play can meet users’ needs of being entertained, communicating and being acknowledged, resonating recognition and learning. Nevertheless, some findings are also given to demonstrate the negative factors which hinder the development of Homemade Network Play. E.g, lack of broadcast platform, ineffective spreading strategies, administrative supervision, low production quality, advertisement and few originality. According to above-mentioned problems, the author lists the following suggestions, first, break visible spread; secondly, optimize the production quality and original creation, bring the users a perfect audio-visual experience; thirdly, develop industrial chain and create benign market atmosphere; fourthly, clarifying the users’ needs based on a accurate data analysis.
