The report includes the translation of the Chapter One of Dynamic Supply Chains, the 3rd edited version (the author is John Gattorna) which was published on June, 2015 and a report focus on it.The author of Dynamic Supply Chains is John Gattorna, who is a famous scholar in logistics and has been working in corporate logistics networks and enterprise supply chains for 30 years. Many global companies have adopted his model, with significant results. Dynamic Supply Chains is for business managers who recognize the vital role that supply chains and logistics play in the company and its future. This book mainly explains the new model of supply chains that have an important role in economy. Based on the leadership thought, the conceptual framework of this book include four parts:customers (marketplace), supply chain strategies (lean, agile, continuous replenishment, and fully flexible), internal cultures and leadership (those people who shape the culture in the firm). It also introduces the new model of supply chains. This translation mainly focuses on the chapter one which talks about how to develop supply chains, coping with market volatility by the ’new normal’ and making the case for a new paradigm in supply chain design.The translation report mainly includes four parts. The first part mainly introduces the content and the style of the text, as well as the characteristic of the text and background of the author. Then give a brief introduction of the value of the translation and the translation strategy of business text. The second part describes the whole translation process; especially emphasize keeping the accuracy of the professional words. The third is mainly a case analysis of problems in the process of translation and the solution. In the last part of the paper, it draws a conclusion about the whole translation process.
