The Exit—A Study Of The Relationship Between Oil Painting Landscape Painting And Creation

Imported from the West and evolved from scratch, oil painting has now become the main method for painters to express their ideas and feelings by connecting themselves with nature. Whether they were the sketching of Barbizon School or the recreating painting activities around the world, all have helped the painters channel what they see and collect from the nature and how they feel about and are inspired by the nature to what they draw. While fully exposed to the nature, the painters are able to either draw exactly how they see the nature or how they feel about it.At the phase of recreating, more innovative painting skills and visional experiences are applied to demonstrate subtly a specific artistic idea and charm in which way the selfawareness and artistic ideas are perfectly combined together. After all the phases, an oil painting will come to light eventually. A problem, however, about how to transfer sketching to recreating during the whole process arises unsurprisingly. Therefore, it is a must for every painter to understand how the sketching and recreation are connected internally and externally, how the former imposes impact on and can better serve the latter. The relations between sketching and recreating in oil painting soundslike cliché, but the dissertation, through studying this topic thoroughly, is in the hope of better explaining a seldom-known idea on how the artistic recreating really matters. Three aspects, the understanding of objective painting, subjective understanding and transformation and ideas delivery, shall be elaborated to study the relations between sketching and recreating. A personal point of view will be proved in this dissertation that both sketching and recreating are two different forms of artistic practices in essence. No matter what form it represents, it ’ ll definitely fall into the category of oil painting recreating as long as the painter is able to transform what they feel and think to what they draw exactly. An oil painting able to deliver the painter ’ s idea makes sketching and recreating one thing.
