HongKe, as the reprehensive figure of ShanXi’s third generation writers following Liu Qing, Du Pengcheng, LuYao, Chen Zhongshi, once was called as a dark horse in the contemporary literary world. Unlike Shanxi traditional writers committing to ethnography and local chronicles, Hongke devoted to writing novels in Xinjiang.In 1986, Hongke came to Xinjiang and had lived there for ten years. While after back to Shanxi, he wrote a series of poetic novels in Xinjiang more than 500 million words. These novels have obvious characteristics of the theme of life narration. The narrative of life should be traced back to Hongke’s own cultural hybrid identity.Hongke was born in the birthplace of Zhouyuan culture. On one hand he was influenced by Chinese traditional culture, but on the other hand, he was also attracted to the exotic culture of ethnic minorities in Xinjiang. Thousands years of cultural concept has been the deconstructed and reconstructed in Hongke’s value. Different cultures found and collide with each other, and eventually formed a unique cultural identity.This paper is divided into three chapters. The first chapter aims to write the life narrative theme of Hongke’s novel, including the pursuit of ideal life form, poetic life concern and life narrative tendency of roots-seeking.The second chapter focuses on the mixed culture gene of Hongke’s life narration.Chinese traditional Confucianism and Taoism culture, the heterogeneous culture like grassland culture and Islamic culture have great influence on him.The third chapter is mainly about the dynamic comparison about Hongke’s life narration and culture hybird. With similar experience in Xinjiang, compared him with Zhang Chengzhi and Wang Meng, this part attempts to reveal the uniqueness of Hongke’s creation as well as the significance among the contemporary writers.
