Study On The Formation And Evolution Of The "Wu Zhu" Image

This paper made a comprehensive explanation of the formation and evolution of the "Wu Zhu" images of the leaders of The Three Kingdoms. By sorting out the historical records of the "Wu Zhu" images, this paper tries to sum up the characteristics of its historical images and analyses the evolution law of the literary image of "Wu Zhu" from the notes novel, poetry,Pinhua, drama and other literary style. By interpreting the Culture of The Romance of the Three Kingdoms, it tends to generalize characteristics and cultural connotation of the main image of Wu Zhu"; and explain its significance of the image of "Wu Zhu" from the perspective of drama after its time, rap art, literature and film and television works.This paper is divided into four parts:The first part: the generation and dissemination of the historical images of "Wu Zhu". By sorting out the historical records of The Annals San Guo(annotated by Pei Songzhi) and Zizhi Tongjian, this paper summarizes the characteristics and similarities and differences of the image of "Wu Zhu", such as their resourcefulness and temper, and reveals the important influence on "Wu Zhu" images by the Historian thought.The second part: the description of the literature image of "Wu Zhu". It mainly discusses the characteristics, motive and cultural origin of "Wu Zhu" images in the literary field as different literary forms, including the "alienation" of the "Wu Zhu" images in literati notes novels of Wei Jin and southern and Northern Dynasties, the praise and belittle of "Wu Zhu" images in poetries and prose of Tang and Song Dynasties and the ugliness and negation of "Wu Zhu" images in Pinhua of Yuan Dynasties and "Zaju of the Three Kingdoms".The third part: The recreation of "Wu Zhu" images in The Romance of the Three Kingdoms. On the one hand, "Wu Zhu" images are reshaped and remodeled in The popular Romance of the Three Kingdoms and the image and character of "Wu Zhu" in novels are summarized. On the other hand, "Wu Zhu" images are criticized and accepted in The Romance of the Three Kingdoms which is the interpreted version written by Mao Zonggang.The fourth part: the dissemination and acceptance of "Wu Zhu" image after The Romance of the Three Kingdoms. To begin with, the paper analyses the recreation of the "WuZhu" images in opera and rap art; Then, it is the new interpretation of the "Wu Zhu" images in modern literary works, which reflects the contemporary public’s aesthetic needs and cultural values. In the end, this paper delves the adaptation of contemporary film and television works to the image of "Wu Zhu".
