This thesis is a report about English to Chinese simulated simultaneous interpreting without text. The audio speech is given by Cameron on new immigration policies at the Home Office. This task is a simulated simultaneous interpreting training practice.Simulated simultaneous interpreting is an important way for student interpreters to improve themselves. This practice is based on the principle of syntactic linearity and skills of simultaneous interpreting learned in SI classes.In this report, the first part is the description of the simulated simultaneous interpreting task. The second part is the procedure of the simultaneous interpretingincluding preparation before the interpreting, execution of the plan and assessment of the quality of simultaneous interpreting. The third part is the case study, which presents the problems in the process of simultaneous interpreting and offers solutions through the analysis of the case. The last part is the summary of the practice and practical suggestions to interpreters including learning more background knowledge and cultures of the target language.
