Preliminary Study On The Early From Of Picture Book

Picture book is originated from Japanese word ”ehonn” which means a book with pictures in it. In China, picture book is like serial pictures.At the beginning, this paper focuses on the early stage of picture book’s form and discusses the evolutionary process and cultural meaning of it. In the analysis of the graphic language in early graffiti art, this paper proposes the current popular form of picture book that is closely related to the origin of early human art form. Obviously, this relation is also an inevitable choice during the development of early human plastic art. However, when picture language has gradually become mature, the picture forms in different regions, nations, cultures and countries turned to be multiple and complicated. This is the root that we advocate the picture book of popular art development.Based on the judgment and analysis above, this paper organizes and analyzes the theoretical and historical materials of early picture book’s form. By analogizing the early picture book’s form to European "Bible" illustration, Persian and Indian "miniatures", Japanese "Tang painting"and Chinese "scroll painting", this paper especially demonstrates how has the basic form of ancient Chinese “scroll painting " directly affected the later occurrence and development of Japanese "scroll content", and how has the “ehonn” under the influence of Chinese culture evolved as “butterfly” and become popular in the word and turned to the representative of the contemporary popular culture in Japan.Taking the historical facts as the foundation and the philology and semiology as the basis,this paper analyzes the essence of Japanese picture book’s form standing on the height of Chinese cultural development. It derives from Chinese culture and art. Furthermore, this paper comprehends the relationships between current popular culture and network media and realizes the communication value from book-reading to picture-reading. It promotes people to more focus on the development and significance of the current “picture book” art under the Chinesecultural requirements.
