The book, Jet Li is a Chinese biography published by Jiangsu People’s Publishing House in 2011, telling us the legend of the famous star- Jet Li. This translation practice is completed when the author interned in Shanghai Language Services Center for Cultural Trade. The translation project is neoteric and challengeable. After translation, revision and proofreading, the book was finally published in 2015. This translation practice report begins with introducing the translation project, then after analyzing the source text, it moves into case study. The cases mainly come from the fourth chapter of the book. The author analyzes the cases at lexical and syntactic levels, expecting to discuss some valuable translation strategies and techniques when doing Chinese–English translation practice on celebrities. On the lexical level, the analysis includes translation of Chinese cultural words, translation of emotional words and translation of antonymous words. While on syntactic level, the analysis covers selection of subjects, contrasting sentence translation, proverb translation and omission. Through this translation practice, the author has deeply understood the responsibility of translation and better enhanced his translation ability.
