Translation Process Management And Step Optimization

The acceleration of globalization has given rise to a high demand for translation industry. Nowadays, major translation projects are mainly accomplished by translation teams. The mode of translation teams calls for strict requirements for translation management. Just like other types of projects, translation projects include a number of processes. In order to manage translation projects better, it is necessary to give priority to the internal process management.During her translation internship, the author of this thesis participated in a translation project, which is a bidding document of Shanghai KEVINS Information &Tech Co., Ltd.(KVS) by playing three different roles, namely, the project manager,translator and reviser. Meanwhile, by combining the practice of translation projects in all sectors with the related process management theory, the author of this thesis makes a systematic study of the specific content of each process in the translation process to explore the factors affecting the translation quality and then designs a translation process with all steps optimized and achieves the final aim of getting the good translation text.Firstly, as the project manager, the author of this thesis draws up the overall flow of translation projects according to the management theory, and then works as one of the translators and revisers respectively, during this period some problems in the actual operation are found. So the author of this thesis makes some corrections and complements to it, and finally puts forward a translation process with all its steps optimized.
