In Yu’s novels, he exposure himself boldly, on the other hand he showed restraint on loving desire. This paper argues that Christian culture "confession consciousness†has a direct relationship with his novel, which correspond to the consciousness of confession in "Confessions" and "repentance". This paper attempts to further explore the relationship between the "confession consciousness" and Yu Dafu’s novels by exploring Yu Daf’s life experiences and analyzing the text of Yu Dafu’s novels.This paper is divided into five parts. The introduction part introduces Yu Dafu’s literary achievements and summarizes the current research status of Yu Dafu’s novels. The first chapter mainly analyzes the origin of the word "confession" and the meaning of the different culture background of the East and West, and the influence of the "The May 4th Movement" period on the intellectual in wide range. The second chapter discusses the personal factors of Yu Dafu’s acceptance of the "confession consciousness", and considers the weakness and strength of Yu Dafu’s personality, as well as Rousseau’s "confession" and "private novel" In the third chapter, from "the conflict between flesh and spirit of repentance", "unable to rescue the confession" and "as a social zero confession", we can further analysis the consciousness of confession in Yu Dafu’s novels. In the fourth chapter, from the diachronic point of view, the confession consciousness development of three phases and their respective characteristics are classified.
