As is known to all, western philosophy has undergone tremendous changes from the modern era to the modern period. General statement is that from rational philosophy to non rational philosophy, this statement is precisely the main content of each period of Philosophy, but it’s vague, ambiguous. So far, a more convincing, delicate description to the change has not yet been given. As a key part of modern philosophy in the period of transition, it is self-evident the meaning of Schopenhauer. He inherits Kant’s philosophy and problems, and criticizes the German classical philosophy of the same period. And he continues the rational spirit, but at the same time, many m o d e r n p h il o s op h y t h e me s ar e de r i ve d fr o m h i s p h i lo s o ph y.The mystery of conversion of modern philosophy lies in the philosophy of Schopenhauer. His philosophy of the will is clear to us, whose cognitive structure theory will reverse the people’s understanding direction and way to world or the self. The author believes that this epistemological turn during western philosophy is the inherent texture of turning. This paper combs the development history about “will” through tracing the history of philosophy, then tries to sort out such a knowledge structure in the or iginal Schop enha uer to i llus trat e th is c hang e.
