On The Artistic Exploration Of Tujia Nationality’s Cultures In The North Of Guizhou Province

The settlement of Tujia nationality in northeast Guizhou lies at the boundary intersection of Hunan, Hubei, Chongqing and Guizhou, whose specific geographic orientation makes the place where Tujia nationality live to be a characteristic “cultural sediment zone”. The traditional craft art of Tujia nationality area in northeast Guizhou, throughout almost every corner of people’s lives, is of long standing, multiple forms and rich varieties, and is closely bound up with the lives of Tujia and their ancestors. The existing traditional arts and crafts works dating back as early as the Warring States period, has enjoyed a history of around 2300 years so far. Setting the folk culture of Tujia nationality in northeast Guizhou as the theoretical base, this research aims to further explore the essence of their folk cultural resources. In the aspect of aesthetic artistic value, the arts and crafts of Tujia nationality in northeast Guizhou are also full of varieties, mainly reflected in the incomparable artistry and unique art form among the national resources, through which we can understand the historical development of the nationality, living state, live style and customs of Tujia, as well as their thoughts and feelings. Cultural heritage, such as stone carving, minors mask, paper-cuts, bamboo weaving, printing and dyeing, embroidery and architecture, are of profound historical background and national characteristic, and the analysis and protection on them become the task to be studied.There aspects are mainly discussed in this research. The first chapter outlines the origin of Tujia nationality and folk culture of Tujia nationality in northeast Guizhou; the second chapter emphasizes the characteristics of folk culture and artistic characteristics of Tujia nationality in northeast Guizhou; the third chapter elaborates the folk art style, crafts and characteristics in the general; and the fourth one explores how to inherit and create based on the national folk art uses and forms of Tujia nationality in northeast Guizhou. In generral, the author’s research, on the one hand, explores the essense of culture as well as how to protect and inherit it based on the macro overview of northeast of Guizhou Tujia ethnic folk culture. hich provides some scientific suggestions on the orientation of Tujia nationality in northeast Guizhou.
