This article is written based on the “Continuation-taskâ€, a teaching method which invented by the worldwide academic professor Wang Chuming, and this method is adopted as a teaching method on Chinese as a Second Language to carry out experiments on foreign college students in China. This adopted “continuation-taskâ€method was tested six times in total to explore the test design, classroom training, writing comprehension evaluation and composition analysis.According to the study, the following results are found:(1)The “continuation-taskâ€were considered not too difficult, and the assignment outcome had high quality. Four times of “continuation-task†is the key to improve participants’ Chinese language level.(2)Participants tended to have lignment on their writings to follow the given text content,structure, and language.(3)Different reading materials had different effects to participants with different Chinese levels.(4)There is a positive correlation between participants’ composition quality and writing score.In addition, a questionnaire and interview were arranged after experiments. The result shows that 74.22% of participants like the “continuation-taskâ€method; comparing with other practicing methods, participants more prefer to practice writing by using “continuation-task†method, and a great percentage of them considered “continuation-task†had better learning effect. The feedback shows that “continuation-task†has significant advantage on improving Chinese learning.This study only analyzed data from ethnic Chinese students and it requires further study on non-Chinese foreign students. Moreover, due to the limitation of the experiment condition, parallel comparison group was not used in the experiment. It still takes time to operate comparison analysis method in the future. |
