On The Poetics Thoughts In The Dream Of Red Mansions Revealed By Zhiyanzhai’s Remarks

The Dream of Red Mansions has its own poetic thoughts system, the core of which is "Xingqing(兴情)”theory. On poetry study, creation, review, the theory aims at "interest and charm", and on view of history and literature, the theory aims at "Xingqing((兴情)’’in poems in ancient and modern times but not stick to dynasty, thus the "macro-history of poem theory" based on variation thoughts formed. The system possesses independent poetic value. While the system is the result of referring to and peeling away Zhiyanzhai’s Remarks(脂评).Therefore, the thesis was arranged according to this thought:Chapter one revealed the poetic thoughts of Zhiyanzhai’s Remarks(脂评)that fit in with the Dream of Red Mansions:the fundamental characteristics of poem is expressing "Xingqing(兴情)”,the purpose of poem creation and evaluation criterion is integration of "interest" and "skill", namely the "interest and charm".the thesis also discusses how to achieve the purpose and related problem about criterion.Chapter two analyzed the poetic thoughts of Zhiyanzhai’s Remarks(脂评)that different from the Dream of Red Mansions. The former discussed the relationship of "conception" and "phrase", "exist" and"experienced", the Dream of Red Mansions reflects understanding of dialectical unification on the hand, yet Zhiyanzhai’s Remarks(脂评)ignores this point. The latter analyzed some regular problem, such as the sages and scientific method of poem; the use of aesthetic attitude,artistic imagination, artistic fabrication of poetry creation; subjective standards and objective standard in poetry appreciation.Chapter three sorted out poetic thoughts of predecessors that different from the Dream of Red Mansions. It mainly focused on view of history of poetry.Chapter four explained the core of poetic thoughts with its connotation. Based on analysis of the former three chapters, the systematic poetry thoughts of the Dream of Red Mansions appeared, of which the core lies in "Xingqing(兴情)”theory. Thus this chapter specialized in demonstrating the cause of core of poetics thoughts from "Xingqing(兴情)”theory and defining its connotation. Thus it can be known that "Xingqing(兴情)”theory is the inheritance of "Yuanqing(缘情)" theory, which as the fundamental fixing the relationship between poetics and novel, performing balance and unification of poetics and novel.
