The Jin Shu written by Wang Yin who is a historian lived in The Eastern Jin Dynasty is a kind of biographical history books recording the history of the Jin Dynasty, it is also an important work of the nineteen books about the history of the Jin Dynasty which are the basis of another Jin Shu composed in the Tang Dynasty. However, much of it’s content is lost, only fragments surviving. The book The record of geography is a piece of The Jin Shu and thanks to the Qing Dynasty scholars’collection, it is gradually completed. To take a study on The record of geography of Jin Dynasty, not only helps to clarify the evolution of the geography of the Jin Dynasty, but also provides clues for us to collate and compile the ancient books it quotes, and has important reference value. Yet, scholars still lack a in-depth study of the book. This paper will present a detailed introduction to the process of the book-writing in the background of the development of geography of the Jin Dynasty, and analyze the content, the style, the limit of years, the system of emigrant state and other issues of it, and comment on four types of books of compiling scattering documents in the Qing Dynasty. Besides,the paper will have a collation on the basis of the book compiled by Tangqiu, correcting its errors, and turn into a collection, in order to offer some authentic reference for futurity. |
