Poverty Affects The Academic Performance-the Effect Of Stereotype Threat

On poor attribution, participants will be more poor to a "social factors", not "own factors".After the second part of the study found that the participants of household income will significantly affect college students English and math test scores, low-income students clearly under the influence of stereotype threat.However,high-income and middle-income students less affected by the stereotype threat; In test anxiety,low-income participants in exposure to stereotype threat situation of exam anxiety levels increased significantly, while the level of anxiety in the middle-income and high-income groups did not significantly increased,and in the high income group,experimental group edges of test anxiety anxiety level is lower than the control group significantly. The last part of the experimental results show that the difference in socioeconomic status of stereotype threat caused by circumstances, working memory capacity of the subjects are affected. So we should from the Angle of stereotype threat,to focus on education fairness, as well as how to reduce in the education evaluation the effects of stereotype threat.
