The Study Of The Reception History Of Pan Yue In Ancient China

Pan Yue is an outstanding representative of Taikang literature.He has played an important role in the Medieval Literature.Since twentieth century, a lot of research of Pan Yue and his works of the traditional problems have been solved,such as the analysis of the works of Pan Yue,genealogical research.The study of the depth and breadth are constantly expanding.Until twentieth century sixty or seventy years,the rise of Western Receptional Aesthetic provides a new perspective for the study of Chinese classical literature,and has opened up a vast new areas of research.Receptional Aesthetic emphasizes that a complete and objective literature history should not only stand in the perspective of authors and works,but also from the reader’s point of view to grasp the dissemination of works and reception effect.Pan Yue has been accepted in the history of literature development long for the long time by the later scholars.The paper choose the reception of Pan Yue from Western Jin Dynasty to the Ming and Qing Dynasties as the research object to grasp the changes of Chinese literary thoughts and Horizon of expectation systematically in the process of Pan Yue’s acceptance.This paper mainly through the systemic and depth analysis of notes on classical poetry, anthology, a number of notes,and other relevant documents in past dynasties to discuss Pan Yue and his works’ s acceptance.And from the perspective of the diachronic and synchronic,with the clues of Pan Yue’s poems and character to study Pan Yue further.In this paper,the Jin and Southern and Northern dynasties as a whole stage to be studied.In Jin Dynasties, the reception theory about Pan Yue is still in its infancy,and the Southern and Northern Dynasties is the peak.During this time many famous critics like Zhong Rong, Liu Xie and other critics systematically comment on Pan Yue’s works,and most poets in Jin and Southern and Northern dynasties have imitated his creation.In the Tang Dynasty, the influence of Pan Yue has been broadened by the open literary environment.Scholars has the mixed evaluations with Pan Yue.It was mainly reflected in works of literature and history books, and in the most creations of poetry in Tang also cited Pan Yue’s poems.In the Song Jin Yuandynasties,because of the development of Confucian school of idealist philosophy,the reception of Pan Yue gradually comes into the trough.The pursuit of Tao led to Pan Yue becomes the typical of his works are scrapped because of his personality.But about Pan Yue’s literary criticism has the further development.During the Ming and Qing dynasties,Pan Yue’s reception comes into a stable stage.There are more comprehensive critics about Pan Yue compared with Song Dynasty,such as the literary grace, temperament, character, etc.However, in addition to the development of the Memorial Poetry,the influence of Pan Yue from the Song Dynasty to the Ming and Qing dynasties is very infinitesimal.
