Discussion Of Painting’s Sensation

With the development of economy, people’s attitudes to art become a little impetuous. Many people begin to judge arts by marketing price, which may spitefully increase the prices of the arts by false auctions, and thus ignore the inner values of the arts themselves. Basically, the inner value of an art is obviously not equal to the labeled price. One key factor to decide the inner value of an art is whether the artist can express their emotions and feelings through the art, and whether the art itself can communicate with people with psychic feelings, such as happiness, sadness, peace and jollification. First of all,based on painting itself and the aesthetic theories proposed by the famous painters, the thesis discusses the necessity of “feeling” and “acceptance” in painting. From the views of sensation, the thesis discusses the sensation relationship between artist, painting, spectator and reality. Secondly, considering the understandings of sensation from the painting theories of ancient artists of Chinese traditional painting, together with the relative definitions from the foreign philosophy and aesthetics, the importance of sensation in painting is discussed. Eventually, based on the creative methods of artists and the aesthetic thoughts of philosophers, the methods to express sensation in painting are discussed.
